Proud to announce that my research was the winner of the Phi Kappa Phi Research Award. My session is titled A Survey of Modern Trombone Techniques. This presentation provides a pedagogical survey of extended performance techniques found in avant-garde music for trombone. The presentation will discuss the development of avant-garde music traditions, and its reflection found within the contemporary trombone repertoire, specifically in post-World War II art music. The presentation will represent a survey of contemporary trombone techniques found in music that is programmed on my graduate recital.
